FEE SCHEDULE

Fees and charges for water and sewer services provided by South Walton Utility Company, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the “Company”, are as outlined below.

1. CONNECTION FEE:

Residential connection fees will be based on square footage. Multi-family, Hotel and Condo connection fees will be based on units. Commercial connection fees will be based on land use.

1 Alternative level of service for connections other than Residential can be submitted for consideration by the General Manager provided appropriate documentation accompanies the request demonstrating the basis for the alternative level of service. The General Manager shall consider such alternative level of service and based on engineering principles and Utility standards either grant, deny or change such alternative request. 
2 For any land use not identified on the table above, SWU may initially reference F.A.C. (Florida Administrative Code) Section 64E or use the approach identified in footnote 1 above.
3 Standard based on 2,800 square feet per unit. Minimum of one ERC (2,800 square feet) for new construction.  Every 700 square feet triggers the next 0.25 increment as follows (and we round up to the nearest 0.25 ERC.  (i.e.: 1-2,800 sqft =1.00 ERC;        2,801-3,500 =1.25 ERCs; 3,501-4,200 =1.50 ERC’s; 4,201-4,900=1.75 ERC’s; 4,901-5,600=2.00 ERC’s)

Meter sizes 1″ and larger will only be issued upon recommendation of a Licensed Architect or Registered Professional Engineer.

1 Water Connection Fees include Impact Fee and Meter Charge; Sewer Connection Fees include Impact Fee and Inspection Charge, as appropriate.
2 There is an additional charge of $700 if SWUCI makes the water tap. If a directional drill is required an additional $780 will be required.
3 There is an additional charge if SWUCI makes the lateral sewer connection: $1,155 for a 4″ lateral and $1,475 for a 6″ lateral.
4 There is an additional charge for actual cost of a 3/4 inch backflow preventer for residential meters. Larger backflow preventers and all commercial backflow preventers are to be supplied and installed by the Member.

2. CONNECTION FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

Connection fees may be paid in following manner:

    1. Residential Single Units:
      1. New Construction – 100% prior to service.
      2. Existing dwellings – 100% – or 25% down with the balance over 3 years @ 10%.
    2. Commercial Single, Multi-Units and Residential Master Meters:
      1. 100% prior to service.

3. SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT CHARGE:

System development charges may be assessed depending upon several factors:

    1. Location of project.
    2. Size of project.
    3. Type of project.
    4. Fire service requirements.
    5. Other factors as may be appropriate.

4. MEMBERSHIP/ADMINISTRATIVE FEE:

$10 non-refundable fee.

Deposits will be credited to the member’s account at the end of a calendar year with twenty-four (24) consecutive months of timely payments.

For existing accounts, upon the account being disconnected for late payment increase deposit in accordance with the deposit schedule listed on page 3.

The owner has the obligation to insure that tenants contact the Company for mailing addresses and necessary deposits if the property/landowner wishes tenants to pay for services.

6. SERVICE CHARGES:

    1. Temporary fire hydrant meters – $95.00 to set the meter plus billing for usage per month as set forth under Commercial Water Rates as listed below.
    2. A $65.00 per unit reconnect charge is made when service is disconnected due to nonpayment of bill or if property/landowner requests temporary cutoff with no change of status in billings due to change of tenants. The $65.00 fee must be paid in advance before service can be reactivated. A 48-hour notice to reconnect will be required.
    3. When a Member requests service between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. on business days or on holidays or weekends for service that should be handled during normal business hours, there will be a $50.00 emergency service charge to that Member. The charge and all amounts must be paid in full at the time the service is performed.
    4. A $50.00 charge is assessed for cleaning service. The fee must be paid in advance and the service will be activated for a period of seven (7) days. At the end of the seven (7) days, the service will be inactivated without further notice or obligation to the individual requesting the cleaning service.
    5. Grease Trap Administrative Fee – $250.00 annual charge per Grease Trap will appear on the bill.
    6. Meter testing fee of $75 plus cost of meter if meter is not found to overestimate per Rules & Regulations.

Minimum Water (Base Rate) for Condo/Multi-Unit accounts will be charged at $8.58 times the number of units.

Minimum Water (Base Rate) for Hotel/Motel/ALF accounts will be charged at $7.43  times the number of units.

Minimum bill includes zero (0) gallons of water usage.

Minimum Sewer (Base Rate) for Hotel/Motel/ALF accounts will be charged at $12.33 times the number of units.

Minimum bill includes zero (0) gallons of sewer usage.

Sewer use – $6.51/1,000 gallons

9. DELINQUENT ACCOUNT CHARGE:

Nonpayment of the current month’s charges by the due date, or by 8:00 a.m. as of the first business day following the due date if placed in the drop box, makes that current amount subject to a 10% delinquent account charge.

10. ENGINEER REVIEW FEE:

Fees for engineer review of project/development plans are:

$160 for single service evaluation
$375 for 2-10 units.
$475 for 11-100 units.
$745 for 101 + units

Resubmittal Fee:

$160 for 10 units or less
$210 for 11-100 units
$420 for 101+ units.

If plans require lift station review additional fees will apply.

11. OTHER:

Lien Search Fees       $10 each

Tampering Fees:

Other fees and charges will be as provided for in the “Rules and Regulations” of the Company.
